Yes, he already turned one and had some cake. Did the party stop there? No way! :)
Connor had his 1 year old appointment Wednesday morning. Here are his "stats":
Height: 29 3/4 inches (50th%)
Weight: 21 lbs 12 ozs (30th%)
Head Circumference: 46.5cm (50th%)
Since he had been having hives with dairy products (and Jonathan was allergic when he was little), they decided to do a blood test for allergies. I was thankful that we both went to this appointment because we had to hold him down while two nurses searched and searched for a vein. I am VERY glad that the nurses took their time, because they only had to actually prick him once and they got the vein. Two vials of blood and two shots later, we were on our way.
Some of Jonathan's family flew in that morning and we got the guys together for a 4 generation shot (both of our dads, Jonathan's grandaddy, Connor, and Otto!). In fact, we took one with EACH person holding baby boy - I just included the first one I had!
Little boy had a rough couple of days after the doctor's visit. I was called out of choir because he was having a hard time (which was expected) and we hung out in the lobby for a bit and opened a present from one of Con's best buddies.
This is what was inside! I hate to say that one letter went under the fridge today and I could not retrieve it...total bummer. He loves taking as many off of the fridge as he can!
We did a lot of relaxing, playing with little boy, and just hanging out with family over the next few days.

Well, I know that Connor already told you all about turning one, so I'll just add a little bit. The results of his allergy test were a little distressing, at least to me. He is indeed allergic to both milk and (slightly) to eggs. These can go away as he gets older and we can try soy milk or rice milk as an alternative for now. He can try to eat most things with egg in it, but not eggs themselves - and no flu shot (yeah, meaning a more nervous mom about leaving him with other kiddos). He also showed that he was allergic to dogs, but just the dander, so Otto is A-OK since he is non-shedding! The news that shocked me a little was that he is "severely" allergic to peanuts. I eat TONS of peanut butter and this really freaked me out, because I was listening to the doctor's voicemail with my cellphone in one hand and a knife covered in peanut butter in the other (I had JUST made a sandwich!). So. He has to have an epipen with him at all times in case he ingests any peanut product. We really don't know how severely he would react - but at least we know to avoid it for now. We are just praying that this will change and that our little boy can go through most of his life without worrying too much about what he is eating!
Other than the allergy thing, he is doing so great. We marvel at him every day and are so blessed to be his parents. He loves to "snap" (he tries so hard!) when he hears music and he claps at the most musically appropriate times (I know, that was a really music nerd statement). Last week we had him in church with us and as the choir finished singing their last note, he started clapping out of nowhere and then everyone else around us joined in! Yeah, we were in awe.
He is still toothless and not quite walking but ALWAYS on the move! He is taking 2 pretty good naps during the day and sleeps well at night. He loves Cheerios, Ritz, waffles, and most anything I give him as finger food that is NOT a fruit or vegetable (except banana!). I told him today that I am not pureeing his food for the rest of my life. ;)
We love him, what can I say? It has been a great first year as a mom. Challenges galore, but amazing!
