Then There Were...

TWO!

I know this isn't the world's greatest picture, but indeed,
little mister Connor's shirt says
"World's Greatest Brother"!

We are so thrilled to have our family grow, sometime around March 31st!  Please pray with us for a healthy baby, and that Jonathan and I will learn how to manage with two "babies" in the house!

We saw an ultrasound about 4 weeks ago (such a sweet little blob) and heard the heartbeat today.  Isn't technology awesome?  Thank you Lord!

Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of some fall weather (my favorite)!!!

Lots of Love,
Lindsay, Jonathan, and Big Bro Connor

Party Like a Monster

Yes, he already turned one and had some cake.  Did the party stop there?  No way! :)

Connor had his 1 year old appointment Wednesday morning.  Here are his "stats":

Height: 29 3/4 inches (50th%)
Weight: 21 lbs 12 ozs (30th%)
Head Circumference: 46.5cm (50th%)

Since he had been having hives with dairy products (and Jonathan was allergic when he was little), they decided to do a blood test for allergies.  I was thankful that we both went to this appointment because we had to hold him down while two nurses searched and searched for a vein.  I am VERY glad that the nurses took their time, because they only had to actually prick him once and they got the vein.  Two vials of blood and two shots later, we were on our way.

Some of Jonathan's family flew in that morning and we got the guys together for a 4 generation shot (both of our dads, Jonathan's grandaddy, Connor, and Otto!).  In fact, we took one with EACH person holding baby boy - I just included the first one I had!

Little boy had a rough couple of days after the doctor's visit.  I was called out of choir because he was having a hard time (which was expected) and we hung out in the lobby for a bit and opened a present from one of Con's best buddies.

This is what was inside!  I hate to say that one letter went under the fridge today and I could not retrieve it...total bummer.  He loves taking as many off of the fridge as he can!

We did a lot of relaxing, playing with little boy, and just hanging out with family over the next few days.
Throwing a ball is one of his favorite things!

Dancing to Earth, Wind, and Fire (I know...what? hehe) on Daddy's sweet headphones.

Aunt Kelly (and Baby Reagan) arrived Friday evening and we
got to shower her with some fun things for Connor's cousin-to-be!

Since all 4 girls were together and it doesn't happen often,
Mom Cindy took us for a pedicure! It was AWESOME!

Pretty toes!  Thank you!

Then it was PARTY TIME!

Birthday boy did NOT want to let go of his balloon.

The gang.

Couldn't quite figure out the noisemakers, but he would
hum at it and try to make the noises we were all making!

Aunt Laura came down just for the afternoon and made Connor's special birthday cupcakes - COOKIE MONSTERS!  She says she is questioning her calling in law and maybe should open a bakery instead.  Or both, I mean, why not?
Thanks Aunt Lola, they were SO good!

Birthday cake is coming!

Yeah.  The suction bowl did not stay suctioned for long!

Maybe this is the only time in his life that Connor will want blue hair...

Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy!

Oh yeah, right into the bath :)

New outfit, ready to go!  Daddy's sweater, by the way.

Cookie Monster card from Mommy and Daddy.

Skeleton costume/pjs (glow in the dark!!!) from Aunt Lola,
just like the ones she had when she was little!

Working on the shape sorter from Nana and Grandpa.

Drum full of percussion from Aunt SAS and Uncle Jay!

Uncle Matthew and Aunt Kelly brought Con a cool guy coat!

Wearing orange for the SU game that afternoon!

Group picture!  Thanks for coming and being with us on this special day!

Well, I know that Connor already told you all about turning one, so I'll just add a little bit.  The results of his allergy test were a little distressing, at least to me.  He is indeed allergic to both milk and (slightly) to eggs.  These can go away as he gets older and we can try soy milk or rice milk as an alternative for now.  He can try to eat most things with egg in it, but not eggs themselves - and no flu shot (yeah, meaning a more nervous mom about leaving him with other kiddos).  He also showed that he was allergic to dogs, but just the dander, so Otto is A-OK since he is non-shedding!  The news that shocked me a little was that he is "severely" allergic to peanuts.  I eat TONS of peanut butter and this really freaked me out, because I was listening to the doctor's voicemail with my cellphone in one hand and a knife covered in peanut butter in the other (I had JUST made a sandwich!).  So.  He has to have an epipen with him at all times in case he ingests any peanut product.  We really don't know how severely he would react - but at least we know to avoid it for now.  We are just praying that this will change and that our little boy can go through most of his life without worrying too much about what he is eating!

Other than the allergy thing, he is doing so great.  We marvel at him every day and are so blessed to be his parents.  He loves to "snap" (he tries so hard!) when he hears music and he claps at the most musically appropriate times (I know, that was a really music nerd statement).  Last week we had him in church with us and as the choir finished singing their last note, he started clapping out of nowhere and then everyone else around us joined in!  Yeah, we were in awe.

He is still toothless and not quite walking but ALWAYS on the move!  He is taking 2 pretty good naps during the day and sleeps well at night.  He loves Cheerios, Ritz, waffles, and most anything I give him as finger food that is NOT a fruit or vegetable (except banana!).  I told him today that I am not pureeing his food for the rest of my life. ;)

We love him, what can I say?  It has been a great first year as a mom.  Challenges galore, but amazing!

ONE!

Hi people!  I am ONE YEAR OLD today!  Woooooooooooooooooo WEE!  Dada and Mama were very excited when I woke up this morning and lots of people sang Happy Birthday to me on the phone today.  Mama said I could do WHATEVER I WANTED TO!

Saturday my Papa arrived and I played with him all afternoon instead of taking a nap.  He's a fun guy to play with!

Ahh!  Hehehehehe...

This morning I stayed in my pjs allllll morning, even to go to Walmart!
I got to open a present even before breakfast.

My puzzle is so cool and very nice to chomp on.

One of my favorite foods is BANANA.  Mama found me some baby bananas
and gave me 2 WHOLE ONES today.  I gobbled them right up!

Mama and Dada aren't tall enough to get my balloon that floated
to the ceiling, but Papa is!  He helped me get it down today!

Loving my wrapping paper and walking with my presents!
Mama says that my grandparents spoil me -
it's okay with me though!

Ooh, farm animals!

My favorite thing so far is to put all the animals in the top of
the silo and pull them back out again!

I also like to dance to "Old MacDonald"!

I got a new bowl that I can use myself!  Dad tested out it's
suctioning power on the TV.  I couldn't get it off at all!

Mama made me a dairy-free cake, because I seem to still get hives when I have dairy.  It was a spice cake with a banana glaze (hello, my favorite!).  She put a musical candle on top which I REALLY wanted to touch, but then for some reason she blew it out and took it away quick!

Hmm...sticky!

Tasty...

Might as well pick up the rest!

Num num num num num num num...

ALL GONE!

Daddy attempted one last "one year" pic but I was ready for bed!

Then the doorbell rang and our friends
Justin and Lauren came with a surprise!

Thanks for the book, friends!  I LOVE it!

I'll have Mama give you all my one-year-old "stats" after I have my check-up.  Thanks for reading with me for a whole year, I can't wait for what will come next!

Lots of Love,
Connor
