A Little More Christmas, A Little More Snow!

We left our pajamas on the morning of the 26th and went over to celebrate a little more Christmas with Jonathan's parents, Grandaddy, and Aunt Barb.
Connor and Daddy "fishing"

Annalee did not get to enjoy her Nana's traditional Christmas morning breakfast casserole...but we did and it was great!  She still enjoyed sitting with us and having a snack.

Annalee went for a nap while Jonathan, Connor, Nana, and Grandpa headed out for some snowy adventures!

Connor in a hole..."Help, Daddy!"

Nana got the toboggan out for Connor to have another ride!  Note to all of you Southerners...I love you, but a toboggan is NOT a hat.  It is a sled.  Google it my friends.  I believe that if you type in "toboggan hat" you will get what you are looking for, but still, if you just type in "toboggan", it is a sled.  Just to clear up any confusion...I still love "Y'ALL".

Nana and Grandpa have a toy/highchair that Jonathan used as a child...it's a boat, it's a plane, it's a great place to eat, whatever you want!  We tried to get a cute pic with both kiddos in it, because there is an old one when Jonathan was about 3 and Matthew was 1...maybe we'll get Connor and Reagan in there sometime soon.

"Finally in charge!  I'm drivin'!"

That Sunday, we also had the chance to sing a duet at Nana and Grandpa's church.  This was just our rehearsal before the service...but you can see that Jonathan's dad has his mic on and is ready to go, too! We always love to sing together and it is wonderful to have our family around as well. :)

A Snowy Day

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas"...

We longed for it and we definitely had it!  We were able to bundle Connor up enough for some real playing in the snow and enjoyed it throughout our entire NY trip!

Loving it!

Digging, tossing, and being tossed by Daddy.

A little snow in the glove...somehow unavoidable... :)

To give you a better idea, here's what all of the cars looked like after one night of snow!  Papa does some plowing, so his truck had been cleared off and out a few times already.

Marmee and Daddy dug out a sled from the garage.  Papa later informed us that this is what he ususally uses to haul fish onto land after ice fishing...ha!  At least they're whole and fairly frozen then!

Being pulled down the (previously) cleared sidewalk...it was too fluffy and cold to pack up for snowmen, but we found a perfect time for that, too!

Sinking venturing into the front yard!

...and being dumped back into piles of snow!

My parents' beautiful home in the snow.

King of the mountain!

Annalee woke up from morning nap and we got a little bundled up to enjoy the snow, too!

"Look, Annalee!"

We threw a towel down in the sled (yes, Annalee didn't have shoes on, but her feet were not in the snow and it had warmed up to almost 40 degrees at that point) and sister got in on the action!

"Mom!  What are we doing?!"

Family Pic.  No judging my fleece PJ pants that were Laura's in maybe middle school...they were warm and I know I was going to get wet!

Marmee giving her grandbabies a ride!  SHE is sporting her "dog walking coat"...my high school swimming parka that is AWESOME for shoveling, watching football games in the freezing cold, oh and of course...walking Cleo.

Well...Annalee didn't dislike it! :)

What a great day!  Thank You God for giving us a little NY snow, we LOVED it!

Christmas Eve/Day 2012

Our "real" Christmas Eve and Day  was spent with our families in NY, and it was wonderful!
Nana was at the airport to greet us...we traveled on a Sunday after a busy morning at church, and we were very thankful to have the direct flight.  As you can see, we were pretty relieved to be off the plane and Connor was on the run when he saw his Nana!

Nana AND Grandpa came to get us (and all of our junk important stuff) at the airport...so here's what we looked like on the way to the house.  Ha!

We settled in at Marmee and Papa's for our visit and tried to get Connor to sleep in a regular bed, like he does at home.  He managed one broken up night and one nap and we switched to the pack and play.    I was worried that it would mess him up once we got back, but since I'm blogging so long after, I can thankfully say that it did not!

We bounced around to see all of the family on both Christmas Eve and day...even though it tires us out, it's worth carrying on traditions and getting to spend a little time with everyone!

Christmas Eve we went to Jonathan's cousins for about an hour and got to catch up and play around a bit.
Annalee with her Nana

We then met my family for church...although we sat in the "crying room" for the majority....not that anyone was crying, but it was our normal dinner time and the kiddos were fidgety and a little noisy, so it was just easier.  Dan came walking in just after we did (having driven a few hours after work) so it was nice to have him sit with us too.  The church was beautiful as always and I was glad to be there, fidgety kids or not!  I love celebrating Christ's birth at church, on Christmas (rather than the weekend before or something, I don't know, that's just me!).

We got together with my Dad's side of the family for dinner and the kids lasted there pretty well - until after 9!

Annalee with Aunt Laura and our cousin Ashley.

Uncle Terry and Will.

On Christmas morning, Annalee woke up nice and early but Connor got a little more sleep.  We snuck down the "back stairs" that go into the kitchen so that we wouldn't see the tree too early, and had a little breakfast.  Well, just Annalee.  The rest of us waited for cinnamon buns...Christmas morning tradition!  Connor eventually came down and ate, too.  Then we took some time waking up Dan and Will and finally headed down the stairs, youngest to oldest (also tradition)!

Would you believe that Santa came to our house early and then he came to Marmee and Papa's Christmas morning?  What a guy.  Connor was a little excited.  Annalee and I were apparently checking everything out.  I think Jonathan mayyyy have still need a little sleep. :)

I don't know what this Elmo is called, but you press his nose and he says things like, "Ah choo! Elmo has the sniffles.  Blankie please!"  Hahaha...Annalee loves him.

And here's Connor's "LOL Elmo"!  We all tickled him lots!

Santa booty baby!

Laura got Annalee a "Smartphone", which she immediately chomped on.  Here she is with her Marmee!  My siblings and Jonathan and I used "Elfster" this year to exchange gifts, just like we did with Jonathan's siblings at Thanksgiving.  It worked out really well and was fun to guess who each person had! Dan had me and gave me a much needed new memory card for my camera - since I hate to delete!

Tirrrrrreeeeed.

After a little bit of napping that afternoon, we headed to Jonathan's parents' for Christmas dinner and opened stockings with them.

Connor was psyched to brush his teeth! :)

This little girl enjoyed opening her stocking...but she REALLY enjoyed dinner.  As in, whatever I put on her tray...roast beef, veggies, whatever!

Disclaimer: every single picture you've seen in this blog was taken by my mother, father, or mother-in-law, except for these last 3 that I managed to get my camera out for.  I'm telling you, it was a busy two days!
Great-Grandaddy and his only (for a few more days!) great granddaughter.

I pray that you all had a Merry Christmas.  Thank you to all of our family for being with us and having a wonderful Christmas together!
