Beautiful Bouncy Baby Bunnies

Our little bunny friends are gone now, but we had so much fun checking up on them and watching them grow for the past couple of weeks!  We tried to peek in on them after some big storms, and all five of them were thriving!

Slowly, they started to venture out of their hole.  Here was the first brave one (at the bottom of the shot).  He/she was just hanging out right next to the hole.

Sweet little face looking in at brothers and sisters!

Later that day, another one joined the first.  We caught them nose to nose!

Then, all five ventured out but stayed squished together in a perfect, side-by-side line.  They would move around the hole but always stay together!

One by one, the numbers shrunk as they went hopping away, but they would come and go so we never knew how many would be around.  One day, there were just two, and they decided to play a little bunny chase with Connor!  I commend you for spotting the bunny ears in this picture (hint: to the right of Connor).

"Momma he's running away!"

This little one jumped through all the loops of our garden hose.  We could have scooped him up at this point but we've tried not to touch them too much...just let them do what they need to do!  Tempting, though!

We saw the mommy come back periodically and nurse them now and then.  Last Saturday, we left for the park and there were no bunnies to be seen.  It was the first time we hadn't seen any, kind of sad!  We arrived back to this sweet sight...didn't even know that she was still feeding them!

Three babies were laying on their backs, kicking and eating away.  Don't worry, I used my zoom. ;)  I loved their little kicking legs because it reminds me of some babies I know!!!

What a fun thing to experience.  So glad that Connor got to see them, but I was so excited myself, too (um, obviously)!
