What to do...
What to do when your toddler will not stay in his bed for nap time:
Summon your firmest voice possible.
Scream inside, stay calm outside.
Put said toddler back in bed.
Sing, give kisses to ducky, Elmo, and said toddler.
Run up and down the stairs a million times, getting a workout putting toddler back in bed.
Come up with *terrible* consequences for getting out of bed during nap time.
Put toddler into baby sister's crib (toddler's crib just one week ago).
Comfort toddler that has climbed out of sister's crib and slammed into hardwood floor. (Bad parenting moment of the day.)
Put toddler back into bed 2 1/2 hours after the beginning of nap time.
Meanwhile: soothe, feed, play with baby sister that is cranky and will not sleep because of loud toddler brother.
11pm...do dishes and everything else that has been left undone, crash into own bed.
What to do when your 2 babies under 2 years old nap for the same 2 hours:
Be so quiet you could hear a pin drop and send up silent thankful prayers.
Slam face down across your bed for a 20 minute power nap.
Finish one entire document for a meeting.
Eat a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips (or a cookie, bowl of ice cream, whatever!).
Diminish your towering laundry pile and get at least one load done.
Take a 15 minute shower and enjoy every second.
More thankful prayers.
Text a friend. Answer an e-mail. Laugh at something on Facebook.
Take your time deciding what to wear and feel good about it.
Think about 3000 things you want to do before they wake up and accomplish at least 1!
Give a little love to your blog. ;)
